Print Models from a USB Flash Drive on AD5X

There are different methods for transferring model data, such as using a USB flash drive or Orca-Flashforge. Below, we'll outline the steps for transferring and printing models using a USB flash drive.

Note: Ensure all preparations for printing are made before using a USB flash drive to transfer data. If unsure about pre-printing preparations, please refer to the Preparation Before Printing Section.

Export the Print Model from Orca-Flashforge

After slicing the model in Orca-Flashforge, you can find several options in the drop-down menu at the top-right corner, such as Print plate, Send, Export plate slice file, and Export G-code file.

① Print plate: Send the sliced 3MF file to the printer and start printing immediately.

② Send: Send the sliced 3MF file to the printer.

③ Export plate slice file: Export the sliced 3MF file.

④ Export G-code file: Export the sliced G-code file.

You can also export files using [File] - [Export]. Here, we will focus on the difference between options ① and ② as shown in the figure.

① Export Generic 3MF...: Export a 3MF project file, which cannot be used for printing.

② Export plate sliced file...: Export a 3MF data file, which can be used for printing.

If you want to transfer files using a USB flash drive, you can choose either [Export plate sliced file] or [Export G-code file].

Transfer Data to a USB Flash Drive

1. Insert a USB flash drive into your computer's USB port.

2. Copy and paste the print file from your computer onto the USB flash drive. Then, safely remove the USB flash drive.

Note: The print file should be a sliced 3MF or G-code file, not a 3D data file like STL.

Transfer Data to the Printer and Start Printing

1. Insert the USB flash drive containing the print file into the USB port on the right side of the printer's display. Once inserted, you'll see [] at the top of the printer interface.

2. On the main interface, click [] and select []. (You can find all printable files on the USB flash drive in this menu. If the first page doesn't show the file, you can scroll to the next page.)

3. Then, click and open the file you want to print. After clicking [], the printer will automatically copy the file to its memory and begin printing.

4. After the file is copied, you can safely remove the USB flash drive without affecting the print job.
